Description
1888-S VAM-6B S/S Upper Bar, Polished Reverse Pitting, Die Gouge Eye Front 6B III2 1 - C3d (S/S Upper Bar, Polished Reverse Pitting, Die Gouge Eye Front) (?) Obverse III2 1- Die 2 - Small angular gouge in front of eye. No pimple dots in nostril. Reverse C3d- Polished die with some raised dots of rust pitting remaining at left side of bow, leaves left of bow and in middle of lower tail feathers. Rotated reverse of 10 degrees CW. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: 1888-S VAM-12/12A eliminated, same die as 1888-S VAM-1C/6B. Can have rotated reverse of 10 degrees CW. There is some doubling of the date. 1888-S VAM-6, 1888-S VAM-6A, & 1888-S VAM-6D were all struck with the exact same obverse die. 1888-S VAM-6B, 1888-S VAM-6C were struck with a different obverse die. 1888-S VAM-6, 1888-S VAM-6A, 1888-S VAM-6B, 1888-S VAM-6C, & 1888-S VAM-6D were all struck with the exact same reverse die.
