Description
1888-S VAM-6 S/S Upper Bar Discovered by Martin Field,December 1978. 6 (revised) III2 1 C3d (S/S Upper Bar) (187) Obverse III2 1 - Note - doubling of date listed for VAM-6 obverse III2 4 was found to be machine doubling when die slid sideways. Die 1 - Tiny pimple die chips inside nostril. Reverse C3d - IV S Mint mark repunched with original showing as a slanted bar in upper loop and curved line on right side of the lower loop. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Rotated reverse of 10 degrees CW. 1888-S VAM-6, 1888-S VAM-6A, & 1888-S VAM-6D were all struck with the exact same obverse die. 1888-S VAM-6B, 1888-S VAM-6C were struck with a different obverse die. 1888-S VAM-6, 1888-S VAM-6A, 1888-S VAM-6B, 1888-S VAM-6C, & 1888-S VAM-6D were all struck with the exact same reverse die.
