1887-P VAM-3 Near Date, Doubled 1-7 Discovered by Leonard Hinckley, February 1974. 3 III2 3 - C3a (Near Date, Doubled 1-7) Obverse III2 3 - 1-7 in date doubled. 1 is doubled below upper crossbar. 7 is doubled strongly at very top. Entire date is set further left than normal. Some specimens show a die chip between loops of first 8 on left and second on right. Reverse Die Marker– Long scratch from the eagle's body thru most of the lower right wing, DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: 1887-P VAM-3 is unclashed! It is usually found with pl surfaces, if you find a 1887-P VAM-3 clashed (is a 1887-P VAM-3A!!!) - you need to verify if is EDS or LDS.
