1887-P VAM-1K Erosion Band 18 Discovered by Scott Hamilton, September 2010. 1K III2 1 - C3a (Erosion Band 18) (?) Obverse III2 1 - Die wear lines at periphery with unusual diagonal erosion band between 18. DPIS - Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: There is an example known without the erosion band 18, but remember TDITD. UPDATE Jan/15: I just came across another VEDS of the 1887-P VAM-1K without the erosion band at 18, everything matches, die scratches at liberty, date position, rev die gouge at wing-neck gap, etc, I believe these early birds are rare and very hard to find.
