1884-S VAM-4B Far Date, Die Chip Left Side Left Wreath Discovered by Mark Kimpton, December 2002. 4B III22 · C3a (Far Date, Die Chip Left Side Left Wreath) ( ? ) Reverse C3a– Die chip on left side of left wreath next to I in UNITED and at top of I in In. DPIS - RE3/LE5 Emission Sequence Obverse: 1884-S VAM-4B, 1884-S VAM-21 Reverse: 1884-S VAM-19, 1884-S VAM-4B Comments: NOT the same reverse die as the 1884-S VAM-4A. 1884-S VAM-4B & 1884-S VAM-19 were both made with the exact same reverse die. Heavy die polishing inside LIBERTY, around cotton bolls, and on forehead near curl of hair.
