1883-O VAM-2 Dash Under 8, Doubled 1 & Cap Top, Denticle Impressions In & S Discovered by George Mallis, June 1965. Revised 2010, 2017 2 III2 2 - C3a (Dash Under 8, Doubled 1 & Cap Top, Denticle Impressions In & S) (181) Obverse III2 2- Dash under second 8 in date. Slightly doubled 1 at lower left and upper right of vertical shaft, 3 at bottom inside of lower loop and top of Phrygian cap. Die marker- Diagonal die polishing lines in IB of LIBERTY. Later die state has die crack from rim thru URIBU. Reverse C3a- Early die states shows two pairs of small raised triangles with denticle spacing below In, two pairs above left S in States and 3 dots at left and right and below I of In.
