1882-O VAM-6 Closed 2, O Tilted Left, Doubled Reeding Discovered by Bill Deterline, December 1977. 6(revised) III2 2 · C3e (Closed 2, O Tilted Left, Doubled Reeding) (181) Obverse III2 2- Closed 2. Reverse C3e– II O mint mark tilted left. Some have a heavy horizontal die scratch at bottom of opening. Edge– Doubled reeding at 9 o’clock but not overlapping or merging. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: Note that 1882-O VAM-6 was the original catalogued designation of VAM-3 EDS, then called "O/S Line". The current listed 1882-O VAM-6, here, is not an O/S variety. However, there may be very old 1882-O VAM-6 attributions that are indeed 1882-O VAM-3.
