1880-S VAM-31 Doubled Date Discovered by Leroy Van Allen, March 1974. 31 III2 21 ∙ C3c (Doubled Date) (187) Obverse III2 21 – Entire date doubled faintly at very bottom right. First 8 doubled strongly on surface of lower loop. Second 8 doubled at lower left outside of upper loop. 0 doubled on left and right outside at top and bottom. Reverse C3c – Normal die of C3 type with very large centered mint mark tilted left.
