1880-S VAM-19A Doubled 880, S/S Tripled, Clashed Obverse st Discovered December 2006. 19A III2 52 · C3i (Doubled 880, S/S Tripled, Clashed Obverse st) (185) Obverse III2 52 – Doubled 880. Left 8 slightly doubled on surface at top inside of lower loop with horizontal gouge in upper loop. Right 8 slightly doubled at lower left outside of upper loop with die chips at top right inside of upper loop and faint short dash below bottom loop. 0 doubled at top left and right outside and on surface at lower left inside.Clashed die with partial incuse st of Trust from reverse showing in right hair vee of lower hair edge. Fine polishing lines in front of Liberty's profile and back of hair. Reverse C3i – (medium) IV S mint mark tripled with short and long vertical bars to right of upper serif. Emission Sequence Obverse: Reverse: Comments: This obverse shared with 1880-S VAM-19 & 1880-S VAM-19A. This reverse shared with 1880-S VAM-19, 1880-S VAM-19A & 1880-S VAM-89. February 2010, LVA changed 1880-S VAM-19 & 1880-S VAM-19A from a III2 45 obverse to III2 52. Later die state of 1880-S VAM-19.
