Minnesota's State Quarter reverse — the thirty-second release in the 50 State Quarters Program — depicts a lake scene with a fisherman, loon, and the state outline, designed by Charles L. Vickers. The "-01MN" suffix identifies this as the first cataloged clash event for the Minnesota issue, representing a unique die pair that experienced unprotected die-to-die contact during production. Die clashes transfer incuse ghost impressions of each side's design onto the opposing die, and Minnesota's distinctive reverse imagery — particularly the loon and fisherman — creates recognizable transfer patterns when impressed into the Washington obverse die.
