Description

ADC-1c-1960D(SD)-29 The die clash can be seen on the obverse die as a line going thorough the mint mark and into the 6 digit of the date. This die clash on the reverse of this 1960D small date Lincoln cent, has the mint mark clashed into the M of AMERICA. The overlay provided shows the relative position of the dies when they did clash. 5 / 1 4 5 A “bar” is seen through the word STATES, indicating that a die clash did occur. However, there is no evidence of this event on the obverse die. The same lack of clash marks on the obverse occurred with this die clash seen through the E of ONE and the C of CENT. An identifying die marker for these clash events is the chipped out R of LIBERTY.
