2025 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-011
ErrorDescription
A contemporary variety on the 2025 Philadelphia Mint Jefferson Nickel, WDDR-011 exhibits Class VIII tilted hub doubling showing on the large semicircular window, the upper right side of the large triangle, and the top of column number 3 of the Monticello design. Cross-referenced as Wexler Variety ID 2025-P WDDR-011 and attributed by Brian A. Ribar, this recently discovered variety documents ongoing die variety production in current coinage. Obverse die markers include a die gouge to the upper right of the 0 of the date and a series of die gouges to the left of the first 2 of the date. Reverse markers include die pitting between the lower portion of the F of OF and the first A of AMERICA, a die gouge inside the first U of PLURIBUS, and a die gouge below the small right window. The tilted hub mechanism creates angular displacement visible on Monticello's architectural features.
