2024-D VDDR VDDR-001

Description

Attributed by VarietyVista as VDDR-001, this 2024 Denver Mint Zitkala-Sa quarter displays light spread on the lower right sash and the upper edge of the right book pages on the reverse. The American Women Quarter program's Zitkala-Sa design honors the Yankton Dakota writer, musician, and activist who championed Native American rights in the early twentieth century, and the doubling falls on elements central to her portrayal. Three die stages have been documented for this variety. Stage A captures the early die state, where the spread on the sash and book pages is most crisply defined against the primary design. Stage B reaches mid-die state, and Stage C advances to late die state.
