2022 VDDR VDDR-005

Description

Part of the American Women Quarters series launched in 2022, VDDR-005 on the Philadelphia Mint Dr. Sally Ride Quarter displays a medium spread on Sally Ride's left shoulder — a location where the doubling is readily visible due to the broad, smooth surface area of the shoulder design element. The Sally Ride reverse depicts the first American woman in space alongside imagery evoking her historic 1983 mission. Three die stages have been identified: Stage A in early die state, Stage B at mid-die state (unconfirmed), and Stage C in late die state (unconfirmed). The early die state would show the sharpest expression of the doubling before progressive wear softened the displaced elements. UVC and DMR attribution codes remain pending, indicating that final cataloging numbers have not yet been assigned — a status reflecting the recent vintage of these quarters.
