The 2022 (D) Lincoln Shield Cent was struck at the Denver Mint as a cent in the Lincoln Shield Cents 2010 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 3.2 billion examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 51% of production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays a Union shield with a scroll banner reading ONE CENT, symbolizing Lincoln's preservation of the Union.
