Description
Attributed by Heath Oldham, this eleventh DDR for the 2019 Philadelphia Jefferson Nickel shows Class VIII Tilted Hub Doubling below the upper portion of the door frame on the center door above the steps. Obverse: die dot below GO of GOD. Reverse: small die dot upper left of first S of STATES; small die dot between V and E of FIVE. Cross-referenced as Wexler Variety ID: 2019-P WDDR-011. Tilted hub doubling produces spread that intensifies with distance from the tilt pivot, making Monticello's detailed entrance area an especially productive diagnostic zone for this doubling class.
