2015 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-044

Description

The 2015-P Homestead National Park quarter DDR-044, catalogued under VarietyVista codes UVC-2143 and DMR-045, shows a medium northeast spread producing an extra window in the lower window position designated R3 on the Homestead farmhouse. The R3 reference identifies the third window in the right section of the lower facade, where the extra impression is the primary attribution diagnostic on the Homestead reverse design. Die state progression across three stages provides a practical attribution framework. Stage A (EDS) is unconfirmed. Stage B is the best-documented state: a depression forms along the upper left roof; die chips appear above the middle right roof section and in the upper right corn husk; and the obverse advances to LDS. Stage C (LDS) is unconfirmed. The multiple die chips and roof depression in Stage B make late-state attribution particularly reliable since each feature is independently confirmable. The 2015-P Homestead quarter is part of the America the Beautiful clad series (2010-2021). This variety is distinct from the several other DDR varieties — including WDDR-048 and WDDR-172 — attributed to the same 2015-P Homestead issue.
