2015 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-021

Description

Featuring the Homestead National Monument of America design, the 2015 Quarter DDR-021 shows medium spread north as an extra partial pump visible in window L3 of the depicted homestead cabin. Cataloged as UVC-2120 and DMR-022, three die stages are recorded. Stage A is an unconfirmed early die state. Stage B, at late-to-mid die state, presents a small die chip on the chimney and a depression along the upper right roof on the reverse, with the obverse also at LMDS. Stage C is an unconfirmed late die state. The window detail on the Homestead Quarter reverse is intricate enough that the extra partial pump created by the northward spread adds a discernible secondary element within an already small design area. Collectors should examine window L3 under at least 10x magnification, where the extra pump becomes distinguishable from the primary design. The chimney die chip at Stage B provides a convenient secondary diagnostic that helps confirm both the variety and the die state in a single observation.
