Among the numerous doubled die reverses cataloged for the 2014 Philadelphia Mint Roosevelt Dime, WDDR-007 represents one of several varieties identified through systematic examination of that year's production. John R. Sinnock's reverse design — a torch of liberty flanked by an olive branch of peace and an oak branch of strength — has appeared on every Roosevelt Dime since the denomination's debut in 1946, and its intricate elements provide multiple areas where hub doubling can manifest. Doubled die reverses on Roosevelt Dimes result from misalignment between the hub and working die during the impression process, transferring a secondary offset image of the design. The fine torch bands, flame detail, and delicate leaf structures on the reverse are particularly susceptible to showing displacement under magnification.
