Description

A quarter from the Philadelphia Mint, the 2013 (P) White Mountain National Park Quarter belongs to the America the Beautiful Quarters 2010-2021 series. The U.S. Mint produced 68.8 million examples, making this ranked 6th of 15 mint variants by mintage, with 5% of production. The obverse features George Washington facing left, based on a 1786 bust by Jean-Antoine Houdon and the reverse displays unique designs featuring national parks and sites from each state and territory. The reverse depicts Mount Chocorua framed by birch trees. White Mountain National Forest encompasses over 800,000 acres of rugged mountain terrain, hardwood and boreal forests, and alpine zones. White Mountain (NH), Perry's Victory (OH), Great Basin (NV), Fort McHenry (MD), and Mount Rushmore (SD) were released. The Mount Rushmore quarter was among the most popular issues in the series.
