2011 Atypical Die Clash ADC-25C-2011-01OL
Error
Description
ADC-25c-2011-01(OL) This 2011-P, Washington quarter with Olympic reverse, shows a strong obverse clashed die with some evidence of the die clash on the reverse die. Neither die was abraded after the clash. Most of the obverse clash marks were left by the trees as is the case with the image below. The clash marks seen above were made by the elk’s antlers, rocks and trees. Clash marks can be seen in front of Washington’s nose. The clash marks under Washington’s chin are from the top of the trees on the left side of the reverse. The only obvious clash mark on the reverse die was left by the back of Washington’s hair.
