The 2011 (D) Presidential Dollar - Andrew Johnson, Position A, struck at the Denver Mint, is part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date collection. The U.S. Mint produced 37.1 million examples, making this ranked 11th of 16 mint variants by mintage, with 9% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The seventeenth President (1865–1869), Andrew Johnson assumed office after Lincoln's assassination and became the first president to be impeached by the House of Representatives, though acquitted by the Senate by a single vote. He was the only sitting senator from a Confederate state to remain loyal to the Union. Andrew Johnson, Grant, Hayes, and Garfield were released — the final year Presidential Dollars were produced for general circulation.
