2009 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-033

Description

Cataloged as UVC-2756 and DMR-036 in the VarietyVista system, the 2009 Philadelphia Mint Lincoln Cent Early Childhood DDR-033 presents very strong spread to the southeast, producing extra log ends on logs #9, 10, and 11 from the bottom of the log cabin reverse. The 2009 Early Childhood design, part of the Lincoln Bicentennial series, features a young Lincoln reading beside a log cabin. Die stage progression documents four stages: Stage A is an unconfirmed early die state. Stage B reaches early-mid die state with a die crack on Lincoln's forehead on the obverse. Stage C is an unconfirmed mid-die-state. Stage D is an unconfirmed late die state. The extra log ends provide visually dramatic diagnostics against the cabin's horizontal log construction, with the very strong designation indicating doubling visible under moderate magnification.
