2009 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-024
Error
Description
Twenty-fourth doubled die reverse cataloged by VarietyVista for the 2009 Philadelphia Lincoln Cent Early Childhood design, DDR-024 displays medium spread directed southeast, manifesting as extra partial log ends on logs number 8 and number 10 of the frontier cabin. The southeastern direction means secondary impressions appear below and to the right of the primary elements, creating ghost log-end profiles extending from the cabin construction. Documented under UVC-2742 and DMR-027, four die stages trace the die's production life from Stage A through Stage D. The Early Childhood reverse — the first of four 2009 Bicentennial designs — depicts the log cabin near Hodgenville, Kentucky, where Abraham Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809. The cabin's detailed log construction, with individually rendered log ends visible at the corners, provides numerous fine elements where hub displacement produces identifiable doubling. Specific log numbering (8 and 10) demonstrates the systematic approach variety catalogers apply when documenting doubled dies on architecturally detailed designs.
