Description

Tracked by VarietyVista under internal code UVC-2739 and die marriage reference DMR-024, this 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial Cent displays a light spread east manifesting as an extra partial log end to log number 10 counted from the bottom of the Kentucky log cabin design. The partial nature of the extra log end — affecting only a portion of the tenth log's terminus — indicates the hub displacement vector was of modest magnitude, producing a detectable but limited offset that manifests most clearly at the log's terminal endpoint where the design meets the open field. Die stage documentation records four states: Stage A at early die state (unconfirmed), Stage B with the reverse at early-to-mid die state plus a die crack on the forehead at EMDS and a die crack in the back of the hair, Stage C at mid-die-state (unconfirmed), and Stage D at late die state (unconfirmed). The dual obverse die cracks — one on the forehead and one in the back of the hair — document progressive structural failure spreading across Lincoln's portrait from two separate initiation points.
