2009 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-011
Error
Description
Displaying very strong spread to the southwest — but from light hubbing — this 2009 Philadelphia Lincoln Cent DDR-011 shows extra partial log ends on logs number 8, 9, 10, and 11 counted from the bottom of the log cabin on the Early Childhood reverse. The 2009 Bicentennial design by Richard Masters and Jim Licaretz depicts the log cabin birthplace of Abraham Lincoln in Kentucky, and the stacked logs create a reverse design uniquely susceptible to doubled die varieties, where misalignment during hub production generates phantom log ends adjacent to the originals. Cataloged by VarietyVista with UVC-2715 and DMR-013, the Stage A early die state has been documented; Stage B mid-die state and Stage C late die state remain unconfirmed. That four consecutive log ends from the eighth through eleventh show the extra impressions indicates a broad zone of displacement across the lower-middle portion of the cabin wall. Cherrypickers should examine the left side of the cabin under magnification, counting from the bottom to locate logs 8 through 11, where the partial extra log ends appear as faint duplicates alongside the primary design.
