The 2007 (P) Satin Finish Presidential Dollar - George Washington, Missing Edge Lettering is a special strike dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint, part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series. The obverse features a portrait of George Washington, 1st President (1789-1797) and commander of the Continental Army, while the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty, inscribed with the dollar sign ($) to represent commerce and the nation's global presence. Inaugural year of the Presidential Dollar Program, honoring Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison. The "Godless Dollar" error β coins struck without the edge-incused motto IN GOD WE TRUST β generated national headlines and collector frenzy.
