Part of the Presidential Dollars 2007 to Date series, the 2007 (D) Presidential Dollar - George Washington, Position B is a dollar from the Denver Mint. The U.S. Mint produced 163.7 million examples, making this ranked 17th of 20 mint variants by mintage, with 7% of production. The obverse features rotating portraits of each U.S. president in order of service, released four per year and the reverse displays the Statue of Liberty. The first President of the United States (1789–1797), George Washington served as Commander-in-Chief of the Continental Army during the American Revolution and established many precedents for the office, including the tradition of a two-term limit. Often called the "Father of His Country," his likeness has appeared on more U.S. coins than any other president. Inaugural year of the Presidential Dollar Program, honoring Washington, Adams, Jefferson, and Madison. The "Godless Dollar" error — coins struck without the edge-incused motto IN GOD WE TRUST — generated national headlines and collector frenzy.
