Sharing the CU-100c-2007P-01R(JA) designation with its Position A counterpart, this rim cud on the 2007 Philadelphia John Adams Presidential Dollar appears on a Position B specimen where the edge lettering orientation differs relative to the obverse. The matching catalog number across both positions indicates the same die break occurred on a die that struck coins receiving both edge lettering orientations — evidence that edge inscriptions were applied as a separate step after face striking. The raised, featureless blob at the rim where the die fragment detached is characteristic of cud formation, representing one of the most dramatic forms of die failure on circulating coinage.
