2007-D Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-001
ErrorDescription
The 2007-D Lincoln Memorial Cent WDDR-001 is the first-ranked doubled die reverse entry for this Denver Mint date, cataloged with a set of precise die markers that anchor attribution. On the obverse, a die gouge appears to the right of the D mint mark. On the reverse, a die gouge is present inside the upper U in UNITED, and a small die gouge sits to the left of the upper T in UNITED. Together, these three marker points — mintmark-field gouge, inner-U gouge, and T-adjacent gouge — provide a repeatable identification framework for attributing this variety across a range of preservation levels. The 2007-D cent was struck in copper-plated zinc, the composition used for Lincoln Memorial Cents after the mid-1982 transition from the earlier bronze alloy. Frank Gasparro's Lincoln Memorial reverse, in use from 1959 through 2008, is the canvas for WDDR-001's documented doubling, and the variety occupies the anchor position at the head of the VarietyVista 2007-D doubled die reverse census.
