Description

The 2006 (P) Sacagawea Dollar is a dollar from the Philadelphia Mint, belonging to the Sacagawea & Native American Dollars 2000 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 4.9 million examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 64% of production. The obverse features Sacagawea carrying her infant son Jean Baptiste Crapeau on her back and the reverse displays rotating designs honoring Native American contributions to the United States. The reverse depicts a soaring bald eagle encircled by 17 stars. This original Sacagawea dollar design was used from 2000 through 2008. A modern issue from an era of rotating coin designs, collector-focused programs, and renewed interest in numismatic artistry. Philadelphia's mint — the nation's first — has produced coins without interruption since its founding in 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $1 to $6 depending on grade and condition.
