Description
A nickel from the Denver Mint, the 2006 (D) Jefferson Nickel belongs to the Jefferson Nickels Return to Monticello 2006 to Date series. The U.S. Mint produced 809.3 million examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 54% of production. The obverse features Thomas Jefferson facing forward in a three-quarter view, the first forward-facing portrait on a U.S. circulating coin and the reverse displays Monticello in a refined depiction.
