2005 Doubled Die Reverse WDDR-011

Description

The 2005 Oregon State Quarter WDDR-011 displays doubling below the right end of Wizard Island — the volcanic cinder cone rising from Crater Lake that serves as the focal point of the state's quarter design. Attributed by the Wexler Team with variety ID 2005-P 25¢ OR WDDR-011, submitted by Rithy Yoeurth, no significant die markers have been noted on either side. Crater Lake, the deepest lake in the United States at 1,943 feet, fills the caldera of the collapsed Mount Mazama volcano, and Wizard Island rises 764 feet above the lake surface. The Oregon Quarter's detailed landscape design provides multiple natural features — lake surface, island contours, tree lines, and rim profiles — where hub displacement can produce detectable doubling.
