2005 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-059

Description

Cataloged as UVC-1514 and DMR-062, this doubled die reverse on a 2005 Minnesota State Quarter displays strong spread producing an extra tree floating free to the right of the third tree in the state's iconic lake-and-forest reverse design. Three die stages have been documented: Stage A in early die state (unconfirmed), Stage B in early-to-mid die state showing a die crack running north from the upper left state outline to the rim, and Stage C in mid die state (unconfirmed). The extra floating tree created by the displaced secondary hubbing impression is a particularly dramatic visual effect on the Minnesota reverse, where the woodland imagery provides clear reference points for detecting the doubling.
