Description

Sharing the same design focus as its DDR-016 counterpart yet originating from an entirely different working die, the DDR-058 on the 2005 Philadelphia Mint Minnesota State Quarter also exhibits a medium northward spread on the highest relief areas of the rock to the right of the third full tree beyond the state outline. What distinguishes this variety is its separate VarietyVista cataloging as UVC-1513 and DMR-061, confirming it as an independent die manufacturing event. Three die stages have been documented. Stage A finds both the reverse and obverse at early die state. Stage B reaches mid-die state, unconfirmed. Stage C advances to late die state, also unconfirmed. Although the DDR-016 and DDR-058 target the same rock formation with a similar directional spread, each die carries its own unique micro-characteristics from separate hubbing impressions. Collectors who locate one of these Minnesota quarter doubled dies should compare UVC and DMR codes carefully, as the DDR-058's higher sequence numbers in both tracking systems confirm it was cataloged later and represents a distinct event within the VarietyVista registry.
