Description

Cataloged as the first doubled die reverse for the 2003 Lincoln Memorial Cent, DDR-001 captures a medium spread with strong hubbing directed west that produces an extra column number seven on the Memorial facade. The westward displacement shifts one column's image laterally, creating the appearance of an additional column spanning from hand height down to pedestal level on the building's colonnade. Strong hubbing intensity means the doubled image carries substantial relief, making this variety more visible under magnification than many subtle DDRs where light hubbing produces only faint traces of displacement. As the primary DDR for the 2003 date, this variety holds the foundational position in the catalog, with all subsequently discovered doubled die reverses numbered sequentially after it.
