Description

Producing a ghostly second column along the Lincoln Memorial facade, the 2002 Philadelphia Lincoln Memorial Cent DDR-019 exhibits medium spread in the West direction as an extra double column #7 — the westernmost column — with the secondary image spanning from elbow height down to the knee and continuing from the hand to the shin. This two-zone doubling range is distinctive: rather than a single continuous spread, the doubled column manifests in separate vertical segments that bracket the column's midpoint. Die markers UVC-3252 and DMR-020 anchor the attribution. Stage A documents the obverse and reverse in Early Die State, while Stage B captures both sides at Mid Die State, tracking how the doubled column appeared as the die wore through service. Column #7 West varieties are the most frequently cataloged spread direction on Memorial cent DDRs because the leftmost column sits where rotational hub displacement produces maximum visible separation.
