Description

VarietyVista lists this 2002 Philadelphia Lincoln Memorial cent as UVC-3250 / DMR-018, a doubled die reverse showing medium spread to the west as an extra column #7 from the elbow to the shin of the seated Lincoln figure. The elbow-to-shin extent represents a mid-range doubling zone on column #7, capturing the section of the column that frames Lincoln's torso and upper legs. This partial coverage differentiates DDR-017 from the hand-to-foot varieties where the ghost column extends across nearly the full statue height. Confirmed at Early Die State (Stage A), this die was examined before wear could diminish the secondary image. Westward hub shifts on Memorial cent reverses consistently target column #7 because it occupies the zone of maximum displacement to the right of the design center. The medium-spread classification indicates a moderate degree of hub offset — sufficient to produce a clearly visible secondary column under magnification but not the bold separation characteristic of strong-spread varieties. Among the multiple 2002 DDRs cataloged by VarietyVista, DDR-017 occupies a middle position in both spread strength and column extent.
