2002 Doubled Die Reverse DDR-010

Description

Less common than the predominant West-side column varieties, the 2002 Philadelphia Lincoln Memorial Cent DDR-010 shows medium spread rotated counterclockwise as an extra column #6 — positioned on the east side of the Memorial facade. The secondary column image extends from hand level down to shin level, covering the upper-to-middle portion of the column shaft. The CCW rotational component combined with East-side placement indicates a specific hub displacement geometry: the hub rotated counterclockwise during its secondary impression, producing a ghost column to the right of the primary. Column #6 East varieties require a different hub displacement vector than the common column #7 West spreads, making them less frequently encountered in Memorial cent DDR catalogs. Three die stages track the die's progression: Stage A records both reverse and obverse in Early Die State, while Stage B and Stage C at Mid and Late Die State remain unconfirmed. The 2002 Philadelphia cent was struck in copper-plated zinc, and DDR-010's East-side rotational spread offers collectors a departure from the predominant West-column varieties.
