The 2000 (W) Library of Congress Bicentennial Commemorative Ten Dollar Gold is a commemorative dollar struck at the West Point Mint. With a mintage of just 7,261, this is a scarce issue sought by specialists. This $10 piece was the first bimetallic coin ever produced by the United States Mint, composed of gold and platinum. The obverse features the hand of Minerva raising the torch of learning over the dome of the Jefferson Building, while the reverse displays the seal of the Library of Congress encircled by a laurel wreath.
