Description
Five cuds for the 1996 Denver Lincoln Memorial Cent establish this date as one of the more prolific mid-1990s sources of die break varieties. Denver's high-speed presses subjected each die to thousands of strikes per hour, and this fifth cud represents another instance where cumulative stress fractured the rim. The detached section left a void that filled with copper-plated zinc planchet metal.
