Following immediately after WDDR-012 in the Wexler catalog sequence, this thirteenth documented doubled die reverse for the 1996 Denver Mint Lincoln Memorial Cent represents a distinct die pair that independently developed hubbing misalignment during manufacture. Each WDDR number corresponds to a unique die — WDDR-013 and WDDR-012 may display similar doubling types, but they originated from different physical dies with their own die markers and doubling characteristics. The sequential numbering reflects discovery or cataloging order rather than any ranking of doubling strength. Cataloged by the Wexler Team under Wexler Variety ID 1996-D 1c WDDR-013, this variety was struck at the Denver Mint on copper-plated zinc planchets standard for Lincoln Cents since late 1982.
