The 1995 (S) Proof Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games Basketball Commemorative Half Dollar is a proof commemorative half dollar struck at the San Francisco Mint. The U.S. Mint produced 169,655 examples. Part of the Atlanta Centennial Olympic Games program, this half dollar celebrates Olympic basketball. The obverse features three basketball players competing for the ball, while the reverse displays the logo of the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games on a depiction of a world map. Designed by Clint Hansen/T. James Ferrell. Struck in 75% copper, 25% nickel over a pure copper center, weighing 11.34 grams, 30.6 mm in diameter, with a reeded edge. Cataloged as PCGS #9709.
