Description

The 1993 (P) Jefferson Dollar is a commemorative dollar struck at the Philadelphia Mint. The U.S. Mint produced 266,927 examples. Authorized to commemorate the 250th anniversary of Thomas Jefferson's birth in 1743, this dollar honors the third President, principal author of the Declaration of Independence, and designer of Monticello. The obverse features a profile bust of Thomas Jefferson facing left, with the inscription 'Architect of Democracy', while the reverse displays Monticello, Jefferson's Virginia estate, in detailed architectural rendering.
