Description

Showing a D/D Tilted repunching, WRPM-019 from the Wexler catalog is supported by a Coppercoins cross-reference as 1988D-1MM-032. The obverse die markers include parallel die scratches emanating from the G and O in GOD and a gouge on the S in TRUST — a pattern of damage concentrated in the IN GOD WE TRUST legend area that provides quick visual reference points for attribution. The reverse carries a die scratch under the left memorial base, along with gouges around the T in STATES and the T in CENT. Parallel die scratches, as seen on this variety's obverse, often result from contact with a foreign object dragged across the die surface, leaving linear impressions that transfer as raised lines on struck coins.
