1986-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-011

Description

With Stage A confirmed at early-to-mid die state (EMDS) on both obverse and reverse, RPM-011 on the 1986-D Lincoln Memorial cent provides a strong attribution foundation from the die's earliest documented period. VarietyVista identifiers UVC-1010 and DMR-012 place this variety in sequence with the other 1986-D repunched mint marks. The confirmed EMDS classification means collectors have a verified reference point showing the die during initial production — when repunching details were at their sharpest. Stage B (MDS) and Stage C (LDS) remain unconfirmed, indicating later specimens have not yet been examined with sufficient rigor to verify attribution. This gap is common: early die state coins receive more collector attention because markers are most visible, while later specimens may circulate unnoticed.
