Description
ADC-25c-1980P-01 This is an exceptionally strong die clash event found on a 1980P Washington quarter. Though there is a fair amount of circulation wear, the clash marks on both the obverse and reverse are clearly seen. This coin is in the collection of Daniel Lavoie. The top left and right images show clash marks from the wreath on the reverse. The bottom left image shows the clash mark generated by the top of the eagle’s right wing and the field. The bottom right image shows clash marks in the field adjacent to Washington’s queue that can from the interior design of the eagle’s left wing. The top left and right images show the clash marks left by Washington’s neck and lower jaw. The bottom left image shows the clash mark left by Washington’s eye and the top part of Washington’s head below the right stem of the wreath. The bottom right image shows the continuation of the clash mark from Washington’s head as it travels through the wreath and up towards the eagle’s wing.
