Documented by MadDieClashes and residing in the collection of Joe Koelling, this 1974-D Large Date Lincoln Memorial Cent displays strong evidence of three separate die clash events — an unusual multiplicity where the obverse and reverse dies struck together without a planchet between them on three distinct occasions. While the obverse die shows indications of only a single clash event, the reverse die preserves three distinct clash marks from the same obverse device, creating a layered set of incuse design transfers that map the progressive history of the die's accidental contacts. Cataloged as ADC-1c-1974D-01(LD), the Large Date designation distinguishes this from the Small Date variety also produced in 1974 at Denver.
