Description
The 1968 Lincoln Memorial Cent was struck at the Philadelphia Mint as a cent in the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The U.S. Mint produced 1.7 billion examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 87% of production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C. San Francisco resumed proof production after a three-year hiatus during the coinage transition. The Philadelphia Mint, America's oldest coin-making facility, has struck coins continuously since 1792.
