Description
The 1968 Lincoln Memorial Cent is a cent produced at the Philadelphia Mint as part of the Lincoln Memorial Cents 1959-2008 series. The U.S. Mint produced 1.7 billion examples, making this the higher-mintage of the two mint variants, representing 87% of production. The obverse features Abraham Lincoln facing right and the reverse displays the Lincoln Memorial building in Washington, D.C.. San Francisco resumed proof production after a three-year hiatus during the coinage transition. Struck at the original U.S. Mint facility, in continuous operation since 1792. Estimated market value ranges from $0 to $1 depending on grade and condition. Struck in 95% copper, 5% zinc, weighing 3.11 grams, 19 mm in diameter, with a plain edge. Cataloged as PCGS #2903.
