1964-D Repunched Mintmark RPM-002

Description

Second repunched mintmark for the 1964-D Washington Quarter, this RPM-002 also shows a D/D North displacement — the same directional correction as RPM-001, but on a different die with different overlap characteristics. While both varieties share a northward repunching direction, each die received its mintmark independently, and differences in the exact magnitude and angle of displacement create distinguishable overlap patterns. The "-002" designation indicates this was the second distinct northward-repunched die identified for the date, separate from the FS-503-listed RPM-001. The 1964-D was the last silver quarter struck at Denver, giving both RPMs from this date a "last of an era" significance in the silver quarter series.
